The Third Trial of JAFF-0199 Activation ３度目の都立狭山自然公園移動

The sky was covered by low and thick clouds yesterday. It was not a good day for outdoor activities but the conditions of the ionosphere appeared favorable for short wave propagation.
So, I went to the lakeside of Lake Tama and try to activate the Sayama Prefectural Natural Park of Tokyo, JAFF-0199, for the third time, expecting some oversea contacts. As I decided to go after I had my rather late breakfast, I had no time to place any announcement in advance on the Internet.

The operation was started about 0550 UTC, and ended at 0735 due to the closing time of the parking space (0800z).
I was sorry to have to go QRT just after ON4ON found my signals and exchanged reports at 0733z on the 15 meter band.
Fifteen oversea stations were logged, of which 11 were EUs 3 ASs and 1 OC, mostly on the 17 meter band except for one on 15 meters. Six of those contacts were with Italian stations.
The DX signals yesterday were not very strong and I had difficulty copying many times.

The loop antenna for 15m was erected on the roof of my car.

This park is the nearest JAFF reference from my home about 22km to the west. It takes one hour to get there as there are many traffic lights on the street, but I can get there with only one turn at an intersection, and the psychological distance is short.

昨日、９月１３日（木）は、どんよりと曇った日で、屋外活動には向いていないようでしたが、一昨日のバンド・コンディションが良かったとのあるSOTAアクティベーターのブログ記事もあり、JF2IWL局のIBPビーコン・モニターを見ると、北米も開いているようなので、JAFF-0199、都立狭山自然公園で、３度目の正直のオーバーシーねらいを試みようと、急遽出かけることにしました。
寝坊してしまったので、ネットの掲示板などに書き込むこともせず、急いで荷物を積み込み、0330Z に出発しました。

結果は、オーバーシー局計１５局で、EUが１１、ASが３、OCが１でした。
JAFF ML だけは、現地到着後にメールを出したので、１８メガでJA7IC局に見つけていただき、そのスポットの後にコールがありました。スポットどうもありがとうございました。
南欧方面が良かったのか、EUのうち、I、イタリアが６局でした。
07Zごろから21メガにQSYしてみましたが、0733 にON4ON が呼んできた交信しただけで、08Z に駐車場が閉鎖されるため、0735Zに後ろ髪を引かれる思いでQRTしました。
近場以外は信号がぎりぎりで、コピーに苦労したケースが多かったです。
リバース・ビーコンを見ると、２１メガの信号は、UD4FD, DL9GTB, OH8WW　に拾われていましたが、SNRは６～９の一桁で、事前アナウンスやスポットなしには交信困難なレベルだったようです。

JAは７局でした。ハイバンドでコールしてくださる常連局以外のJA局があったのは、JAFFのことがある程度知られてきているのでしょうか。
特別記念局の8J25JARD/6にも１８メガで呼ばれましたが、ぎりぎりの信号レベルで、この長いコールを完全にコピーするまでにだいぶん時間がかかりました。
このところ、空振りCQの多い移動運用が続き、受信能力も低下しているような気がします。

昨日は、往きも帰りも１時間で、信号が多いので、距離の割に時間がかかりますが、家から街道に出たら、あとは１回交差点を曲がるだけで着くし、全部下道でお金もかからないので、心理的には近いです。ここは今後も急に出かけるかも知れません。
