8J1INUBO, Lighthouse Special Station 犬吠埼灯台記念局

The special event station 8J1INUBO is now active from Choshi City, Chiba, Japan. This station was opened to commemorate the 140^th anniversary of the operation of the Inubo Saki Lighthouse and scheduled to be active until December 31, 2014.

It appears that the station has been, and will be operated from the premises of the lighthouse occasionally, signing 8J1INUBO/1. The contacts with the latter seem better for the chasers of lighthouse stations, as it qualifies for the ARLHS requirements for JPN-171.

The lighthouse was designed by the Scottish engineer Richard Henry Brunton and was first lit in 1874. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in Japan, and it is one of the most popular lighthouses in the country, being at the scenic eastern tip of the most populous Kanto region.

The height of the focal plane is 52 m and the tower height 32m. The range is 15 miles (25km).

６月１日から、8J1INUBO のコールで、犬吠埼灯台点灯１４０周年記念特別局が運用を開始したようです。１２月３１日までの予定です。期間中に、ときどき、8J1INUBO/1 のコールで、灯台構内からの運用が計画されているようで、そのときは、ARLHS JPN-171からの運用となります。
（その場合は、WWFF JAFF-047、水郷筑波国定公園としてもＯＫのはずですが、こちらに参加してくださる可能性は高くないでしょう。）
この局のことは、まったく知りませんでしたが、このところ、JJ1WTL局のブログ経由で、このブログの「灯台アワード／イベント」のウェブ・ページへのアクセスが増えているので、探してみたところ、この記念局の紹介記事の中にリンクが置かれており、こういう局ができたことを初めて知りました。
当局は、２００６年と２０１１年に、犬吠埼灯台の近くからオンエアしていますが、オーバーシーとはあまり交信ができていません。記念局は、国内ばかりでなく、海外局にもおおいにサービスしていただきたいものです。
２００６年にアイボールＱＳＯしたアクティブな局長には、その後、当方の移動を良く呼んでいただいていて、親近感があります。この局は、今のところ、JAFFのベスト４４局にも入っています。記念局運用の成功を祈ります。
