JARL Headquarters JARL本部

The headquarters of the JARL, Japan Amateur Radio League, is near the Sugamo Station of the Japan Rail Yamanote Line in northern part of Tokyo. As it is not very far from the Toyo Bunko Museum, I visited the headquarters after the museum.

I had thought there was an exhibition room of old rigs and materials donated by veterans, but I was told by an OM there that such stuffs had likely been sent to the museum of the University of Electro-Communications at Chofu City, Tokyo. There was only one cabinet in which several old stuffs were stored.
A QSL card sent to Z1FQ from J1KM confirming a QSO in 1926 was on a shelf.

There is an operating desk of the JARL club station, JA1YAA, in the room. I could see antennas on top of the roof of the slender building rented by the organization.

駒込の東洋文庫ミュージアムに行った後、思い立って巣鴨のJARLへ行ってみました。古いリグなどの寄付を受けていたと記憶していたので、それを展示してある部屋があると思ったのですが、１階の部屋で何かお話中だったお二人のうちの一人の方が、その種のものは、調布に行ったらしいと教えてくださいました。ガラス窓のスチール棚一つに、昔のQSLカードとかJARL創立メンバーのリストなどが飾ってあるだけでした。
カードの１枚は、J1KMからZ1FQに宛てた１９２６年のものでした。
創立メンバーに、海軍の航空用電波探信儀（レーダー）の開発に携わった有坂磐雄氏の名が見えたので、写真を撮っておきました。有坂さんは、JLYB、J2KRなどいろいろなコールをお持ちだったようですが、この時にはJ2BBとなっています。

１階にJA1YAAの運用デスクがありました。そのうちに一度使わせてもらおうかと思いました。
