JARL New Year QSO Party

The JARL New Year QSO Party was held as usual and I took part today by a portable station temporarily set up on the flat roof of the three story building in which my family is living now. Using a loaded vertical with two radials for 40m, I logged 24 CW contacts with Japanese stations on 40m and 30m bands. If I send my log to the JARL, I will receive a sticker to certify my participation, but I am not sure if I do so or not. I was pleased to receive calls from familiar stations such as JA8XRU, JK1OTP and JE1SGH. Many thanks for contacts OM. It was not warm up there but not so bad as I operated midday hours, from around 1200 through 1415, with an intermission for lunch.

今日は、仮設のアンテナを使った屋外運用でニュー・イヤーQSOパーティーに参加しました。７メガと１０メガでなんとか２４局と交信し、いちおうJARLからステッカーをもらう資格を得ることができました。

正月で泊まりに来ていた息子たちがいたので、リグを置く部屋がありませんでしたが、帰ったので、今後は下の階で運用することもできそうです。ただ、時間的に余裕があるかどうかとアンテナをしっかり固定できるかが問題です。

下の写真は、バーチカルを倒した状態です。立てるときは、釣竿をテーブルの右にある１ｍほどのデベ・パイプに差し込み、ロープでステーを張りました。
