Oak Tree (2) 欧州ナラ(2)

I am sorry to report that the pedanculate oak tree on which I commented on March 22 has witherd. I saw no leaves at all while all other deciduous trees have young leaves on their branches this morning.

We have to count on the growth of a young oak tree, but its location does not seem very good for farther growth.

３月２２日の記事で紹介したヨーロッパナラ（イングリッシュ・オーク）の木は、たいへん残念なことに、枯れてしまったようです。今日行ってみたら、この新緑の盛期になってもまったく葉を付けていません。

別のところに実生から育った若木がありますが、これが今の木くらいになるには１００年近くかかるのではないでしょうか。また、この場所は舗装と石垣の間で、順調な生育は見込めません。

この若木の葉は、鋸歯が細かいですが、枯れた大木から落ちる葉は、柏の葉のように、もっと大きく丸みを帯びたでこぼこがあります。
